Domain registration Cook Islands

The official domain extension for the Cook Islands is .CK.

At present, it is not possible to register a domain name with this extension. However, for those companies with interests in the Cook Islands, or that are looking to protect their trademark within the country, it is possible to register certain sub-domain names.

The Cook Islands are an island country located in the South Pacific Ocean, a self-governing parliamentary democracy in free association with New Zealand, who is responsible for its defence and foreign affairs.

It consists of 15 small islands that cover a total of 240 km², with a population of 19,569, according to the 2006 census. The capital, Avarua, lies in the northern part of the island of Rarotonga. The official languages are English and Cook Islands Māori; the local currencies are the New Zealand Dollar and the Cook Islands Dollar.

The main economic resources are tourism and artisan goods.
